Welcome to the Auchmithie Roots Forum

The ancient fishertoun of Auchmithie is a former fishing village in Angus, Scotland, three miles north east of the town of Arbroath and home of the original Arbroath ‘Smokie’. For centuries, fisher families bearing the surname, Spink, Beattie, Smith Eaton, Swan, Swankie, Watt and Cargill inhabited the village.

This forum is for those who can trace their historical roots back to these fisher families and to the village itself.
